Why is it different?

CASP is the only practical, performance-based certification for professionals, not managers, at the advanced level of cybersecurity. While cybersecurity leaders help identify the cybersecurity policies and frameworks that could be implemented, CASP certified professionals are discovering how to implement solutions within these policies and frameworks.
About the exam

CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner certification validates advanced risk management skills; security architecture of operations and the enterprise; research and collaboration; and integration of enterprise security. Selected candidates will have the necessary knowledge to:

  •     The field of enterprise security has been expanded to include concepts, techniques, and requirements of operations and architecture.
  •     Put more emphasis on risk analysis by interpreting trend data and anticipating cyber defense needs to achieve business objectives
  •     Extend security control issues to include mobile devices and reduced form factor, as well as software vulnerability.
  •     Extensive coverage of cloud and virtualization technology integration in a secure enterprise architecture
  •     Inclusion of the implementation of cryptographic techniques, such as Blockchain - Cryptocurrency and encryption of mobile devices.

The CASP is ISO 17024 compliant and is approved by the US Department of Defense to comply with the requirements of 8140 / 8570.01-M. Regulators and the government rely on ANSI accreditation because it gives them confidence in the results of an accredited program. More than 1.3 million CompTIA ISO / ANSI accredited exams have been issued since January 1, 2011.
